Elaine M. Hylek, MD, MPH received her MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a master's in quantitative methods in public health from Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Hylek completed her residency training in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Dr. Hylek is currently the Director of the Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Service at Boston University Medical Center. Her work has been published in noted journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, Stroke, and JAMA. She has served on study sections and abstract grading panels for the American Heart Association and currently is an editorial board member of Cardiovascular Therapeutics and Thrombosis Research. Dr. Hylek has participated on several international scientific committees/boards, including the American College of Chest Physicians Consensus Guideline Conference on Antithrombotic Therapy, the North American Thrombosis Forum, ClotCare, and Thrombosis Quorum.
