PCME is an accredited provider specializing in innovative continuing medical education solutions.
The benefits of treating dyslipidemia to reduce CVD risk have been clearly demonstrated in a number of clinical trials in chronic atherosclerosis. But there is growing uncertainty regarding exactly how this CVD risk reduction is mediated. What is the relative importance of LDL reduction and reduction of anti-inflammatory markers? How important are plaque stabilization and actual atherosclerotic plaque reduction in reducing CVD risk? These questions define an important educational gap, and there is a clear need for education to bridge the gap between what is currently known about reducing CVD risk, and the appropriate application of new insights into clinical practice.
This program is intended to inform physicians about new insights regarding the therapeutic avenues for CVD risk reduction. It will also provide physicians with the latest informed thinking about how to incorporate these emerging therapeutic insights into clinical practice, in order to better protect at-risk patients from adverse CVD events.
